Despite overwhelming socio-economic and ethnic differences, both families must learn to co-exist as parents and blend their lives into one for the sake of their daughters. Bay Kennish grew up in a wealthy family with two parents and a brother, while Daphne Vasquez, who lost her hearing at an early age due to a case of meningitis, grew up with a single mother in a working class neighborhood. At the park, they laugh at how silly the whole switched at birth thing was, and see a father with his son that looks exactly like Tubby."Switched at Birth" tells the story of two teenage girls who discover they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital. She invites them back to the party for cake and ice cream, but Lulu denies it much to the dismay of Tubby. Lulu explains everything, and the woman is amazed, but she tells her that they moved last year, relieving Lulu. The woman runs in with Sarah, who has no idea who Lulu and Tubby are. Tubby wonders if there's a security system, and lifts a dolphin statue up sounding the alarm. Lulu and Tubby go into the house to hide, which is fairly rich-looking on the inside. However, it is a kids costume party, and the woman thinks Lulu is her daughter Sarah's friend dressed like her, and brings the two over to the punch table as she goes to get Sarah. Lulu and Tubby go back to the house and sneak to the back, where they hear a party going on. Lulu asks her mother about the day she was born, and if the doctors mix up any babies, with her answering no, but anything could be possible. They go follow her where she lives, and they learn her daughter also looks exactly like Lulu's mother. They see a lady who looks exactly like Lulu and Tubby is convinced that she is Lulu's mother, but she disagrees. Tubby just dumps it in a person's cart and then zips to a newspaper display, where he reads that a 30 year old woman reunites with her real parents after being switched at birth, thinking that they could've had been as well.
